DescriptionSimone Smalls PR, Inc., a leading NYC-based entertainment and lifestyle public relations and strategic marketing agency, seeks creative, hard-working, personable and self-motivated Public Relations Interns. Interns will work closely with senior staff to promote the company’s award-winning personalities, musicians, lifestyle brands and high-profile events through consumer, trade and business-related print, online and broadcast media. Internships are unpaid. College / University credit available.
-Track media placements and create paste-ups
-Develop targeted media lists / media plans
-Draft pitches and pitch clients
-Draft press releases and media alerts
-Draft schedules, client memos, client media reports, etc.
-Staff events: coordinate red carpets, media check-in, etc.
-Administrative work including, but not limited to: filing, answering phones, copying, faxing, mailings, etc.

-Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate preferred (Public Relations, Communications or Journalism majors a plus)
-Must be available to work min. 3-4 days per week
-Excellent writing and communication skills
-Well-organized and able to multi-task
-Problem solver with passion for creative brainstorming
-Ability to work both individually and in a group setting
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Adobe Photoshop knowledge preferred
-Knowledge of social media platforms a must (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
-Previous PR experience/internships a plus
