Description

The Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital, which serves 63,000 girls in the Greater Washington Region, is seeking qualified applicants for its public relations internship position. The Public Relations Intern will support a small department in representing the outward-facing image of the Council. The intern will gain hands-on communications and marketing experience and understand the role of a public relations department in a larger organization.

Reports to: Director of Public Relations

Responsibilities

•Assist in writing copy for the GSCNC Blog, CapiTalk News and various marketing materials as needed
•Develop social media content for the GSCNC Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts
•Provide logistical support to the PR writer in coordinating Sudden Service events
•Curate media lists and assist in press research
•Assist in the development of the 2015 cookie campaign

Requirements

•Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related field
•Strong writing and copy editing skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Graphic design skills a plus (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator)
