DescriptionChannel V Media (http://www.channelvmedia.com) is a Manhattan-based media + communications agency looking for a smart, motivated intern for an immersive apprenticeship.
First, a little bit about us: We’re a boutique agency located in the Meatpacking district. Our roots are in PR, but our agency is built on providing our clients (lifestyle brands and products, technology/start-ups, and b2b) all the services they often need as part of a unified communications strategy and approach: branding, websites, mobile apps, design, copy/content, social media, and pretty much anything else that might help them connect with consumers. We create with customized solutions that help clients solve problems and meet business goals, so we’ve all developed a lot of different skills (and each gotten really good at a few specific ones) and it means we all work really hard and wear a lot of hats. We’re strategic, creative, resourceful, independent, smart, social, and hard working. We like working with each other and our clients.
ResponsibilitiesSo how will you fit in? You’ll be on the ground, in the trenches, learning about the day to day of creating successful communications programs. You’ll learn all about being a publicist, but you’ll also learn a lot about new media and technology. You’ll learn—and be responsible for—the basics, but we also want you to be a contributing member of our team. Beyond the basics, we’ll look for you to learn about our clients (and us), understand what their problems are, and contribute creative ideas and fresh thinking of your own initiative. If you can show that you can handle more and greater responsibilities, we will happily give you these. We’d much prefer to use you for your brain than for your ability to run errands (though every once in awhile we need you to do that too).
While an internship with us isn’t a path to employment, we would love for you to be so talented and impressive that we HAVE to hire you because we can’t imagine life without you.
This is an unpaid internship for college credit and we are committed to making this a valuable learning experience. Candidates must be willing to commit to a minimum of 18 hours/week (or minimum required for credit).
RequirementsQualified candidates will have strong communication skills (both spoken and written) and experience using social media.
To apply: Please send your resume and a cover letter. (Make it interesting, please--spend some time learning about us and tell us why you think we'd work well together.) If you have any relevant social media profiles, blogging experience, or other shareable links, please feel free to include those too.
**Candidates must be enrolled in college and able to receive college credit for this internship**
