DescriptionChat ‘N’ Chill® (http://chatnchill.com), a world reknown Bahamas beach bar and party place, PLUS its sister company, A Wedding Breeze, a full service destination wedding and marketing company geared toward educating and planning destination weddings for brides are currently seeking virtual interns. We have immediate opportunities for interns this semester at our fast growing company. This position is a part-time 4 (min) - 6 month internship. This is an unpaid position.
Description: Public Relations Assistant
The Public Relations Internship is a great opportunity for a creative person to gain professional experience while working for a dynamic event planning company. Must be proficient in online blogging, letter writing skills, willing and ability to address, stuff and stamp direct mail pieces. PR through submitting press releases is a must. This internship is mostly virtual, working primarily from your home and computer, but also able to meet in person via Skype once per week and optionally for an event, if you should choose, to travel to The Bahamas at the Chat ‘N’ Chill® Weddings & Beach Boutique studio/office (not required). Primarily we use a virtual system to update you on the week's marketing priorities and you will have a systematized approach to the items that will be implemented weekly, and on which days.
ResponsibilitiesThe intern will work closely with the Owner of the company managing day to day operations that will include the following tasks*:
Review HARO requests and submit replies
Client Relationship Management
Email Marketing & Promotions
Market Research and Social media analysis
Manage spreadsheets, vendor and client databases
Conduct vendor and client surveys and interviews
Maintain and update company website
Assist with Direct Mailing campaigns
Research national bridal shows and networking events
Make initial contact calls and follow up calls to vendors and clients
Assist in coordination of virtual bridal events
Attend weekly conference calls via Skype
Brainstorm and research creative ideas for featured posts and brand integration campaigns
Ability to balance and report progression on multiple projects
*These responsibilities will be divided and assigned to multiple interns.

The ideal candidate enjoys wedding and event planning and pretty things! This ideal candidate is also a social butterfly who follows popular wedding blogs, is fashion forward, creative, keeps up with the latest trends and news in pop culture and possesses chic and classic style. Since this is an internship, work experience is not as important as personality fit and skill set.
Must be a student in a marketing, public relations, or journalism major, or someone with strong interest in marketing, communications, new media, and social media. No high school students, please.
This is a part-time position with flexible hours. Hours may range from 10 per week upward (15-20), depending on your skill level in these PR and marketing media areas and your need for course requirements. School credit is not required but preferred. Internships run at a minimum of four month intervals; this is an unpaid internship.
The ideal candidate must be professional, detail-oriented, have strong attention to detail, ability to think outside the box, an independent thinker who can work well alone and in groups, strong ability to multi-task, must possess exceptional writing, communication and computer skills, and must be Internet savvy. Knowledge of social media marketing and branding is a plus.
