DescriptionAzúcar Communications is looking for a self-motivated, eager college student to join our team as a PR Assistant Intern for high profile events. This is an opportunity where the intern will get to work on a variety of exciting projects for high profile events, and will also be coached throughout the length of the internship in all the details of entering campaigns that are media magnets.
We are currently working with some high profile celebrities for events in NYC and across the world. This is a serious job for someone who really wants to make it in the PR industry.
The intern/PR Assistant will work closely with the founder of the company who has more than 15 years experience and has work for companies such as Porter Novelli, Y&R and clients such as Verizon Wireless, Hershey's, to name a few. Azúcar Communications is a growing Hispanic Influencer agency based in NY, that focuses on leveraging bloggers, celebrities, media and thought-leaders for Latino driven communications campaigns.
ResponsibilitiesJob responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with event coordination, which includes discovering new venues, local artists and personalities for our ongoing events
Ability to manage the RSVP list at each event and be friendly and courteous to media, celebrities, and attendees
Be involved in social media strategy & execution before, during and after the event
Ability to meet realistic deadlines
Friendly personality, not afraid to call and email editors and journalists to pitch stories
Comfortable with Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media channels
Excellent written communication skills in English, Spanish is a plus but not a must
Ability to perform research on the internet and go beyond that if necessary
Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Willingness to learn about the Communications industry & the job market
Open to be coached on career aspects and work on assigned self-discovery assignments
Ability to work from home without supervision and meet via google hangouts when needed
