Internship Position: Public Relations Intern
Compensation: College/Academic Credit
Work Hours: Flexible Schedule
Total Hours per Week: 10 – 20 hrs
Age Requirement: 18+
ResponsibilitiesDescription of Duties:
Gain substantial knowledge in our company’s services
Study the demographic details of the target consumer and help in forming strategies to attract them
Build and maintain relationships with both local and national media
Compile and maintain up-to-date contact databases
Create and maintain press kits
Develop, write, proof and distribute press releases and other materials as needed
Assist with media relations, including pitching, researching and scheduling interviews if needed
Create interview preparation materials
Schedule and coordinate speaking engagements, appearances, photo shoots, and other special events
Our goal of this internship is to help the individual to gain the following personal development:
Develop planning, organizational and time management skills
Increase knowledge of computer skills and technology
Develop team-based work competencies
Establish a fundamental foundation in Public Relations
2+ years of coursework completed in the following majors: Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or
Minimum overall GPA of 3.00
Excellent communication skills and the ability to inform and entertain via written, oral and visual media.
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
An innovative self-starter with problem solving skills, creativity, ambition, and a strong work ethic.
Basic knowledge of MS Office and database management.
