DescriptionTCOPR, Inc., is a boutique public relations agency that specializes in consumer, philanthropy, lifestyle, personalities, sports and event PR. Founded in 2008, TCOPR, Inc., has a presence in both Los Angeles and New York City with a network of publicists around the country. Experience in PR is not necessary, but an interest in working in a fast-paced environment is a must!
ResponsibilitiesWe are currently looking for a public relations intern to do the following:
Research – Internet searches on potential clients, current clients and other trends necessary for progress reports and new business proposals.
Clips and press books – this will include “pasting” up website placements, and some hard copies. Clips may need to be assembled (electronically) for clients or potential clients.
Media Lists – using Cision to help build media lists for client pitching and other outreach.
Follow-up – for some projects or events, this could include calling news desks as well as some editors.
Calendar and event listings – this will be placing information online and sending to calendar and event editors for specific events that are taking place around the country.
Events – there may be events taking place in Los Angeles, where we need help with check-in of press and VIPs, helping manage the red carpet as well as attendees and post-event press outreach.
We work with top shows, events, celebrities and products!
* Communications or Marketing major.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (an Excel expert is a must)
* Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills. AP Style knowledge is a plus.
* Basic media relations experience is preferable, i.e., knowledge in building media lists, gathering editorial calendars, identifying media opportunities, media pitching, etc.
* Skilled multi-tasker.
* Proven interpersonal and communications skills.
* Well-organized and detail-oriented.
* Willing to step up to a challenge, with a can-do attitude.
* Ability to take initiative.
* School credit only.
SkillsRequired - Microsoft Excel
Preferred - AP style writing
