DescriptionQuintessential Media (QMedia PR) is a New York-based integrated communications firm specializing in Brand Management, Social Media Planning, PR and Event Production.
We are currently looking for an intern (or 2) who are interested in gaining valuable hands on experience from a seasoned PR professional. This is an unpaid internship and would be for school credit only. The prospective intern would be learning the ins and outs of public relations (including writing a press release, pulling editorial opportunities for clients, how to construct a pitch and how to put together a clip report…amongst other things) as well as event planning and production. Please note that QMEDIA PR based in New York and though the intern(s) would be able to telecommute a majority of the time, s/he must be within a reasonable traveling distance for team meetings, client meetings, events, etc.
Responsibilities• Monitor all forms of media
• Schedule and coordinate speaking engagements, appearances, photo shoots, and other special events
• Write press releases and other materials
• Assist with mailings, print production
• Create interview preparation materials
• Compile contact lists
• Search for press clippings
• Create or update databases
• Greet guests and clients at events
RequirementsQMEDIA PR is searching for someone who is calm under pressure, and is willing to learn and take constructive criticism but isn’t afraid to share their opinion and give feedback. The candidate needs to be someone who is willing to take initiative and is not afraid to ask questions. He or she needs to be someone who is a strong, creative writer and has an interest in high fashion (someone who reads Vogue, Elle. Bazaar, etc. on a regular basis and is familiar with the quality and types of designers featured in these publications) beauty, entertainment, sports, health & wellness and the non-profit worlds. There is also a strong social media component to our business and we are looking for someone who is savvy in that arena and is familiar with platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, Periscope, and Pinterest. Stipends are available for lunch and travel during events and meeting days.
