DescriptionThe Academy of United States Veterans strives to highlight and recognize non-profit organizations that dedicate their selfless service to achieving a positive impact on Veterans' lives across the United States through Public Relations, Media Relations and Community Outreach. AUSV educates our national community on the necessities of our Veterans by illuminating the work of such organizations.
We provide an open forum for Veteran Service Organizations to network and communicate to maximize our collective impact through collaboration and cooperation. By bringing together likeminded philanthropists and shining a light on impactful organizations through recognition, we encourage their promise to the Veterans community. We are currently seeking summer interns who are interested in gaining extensive experience in public relations, media relations, community outreach or event planning.

Responsibilities• Coordinate closely with the Social Media Intern
• Work closely with event sponsors
• Handle event staging and various event activities
• Research for appropriate venues, artists, and vendors for events;
• Contact and establish relationships with vendors as needed to move event logistics
• Communicate with the Hollywood and Political community
• Participate in creating marketing campaigns and material to promote event;
• Organize and purchase supplies for event as needed
• Work on various projects from development to execution
• Work closely with office administrators on day to day activities
• Communicate with members of congress and their staff
• Participate in development and promotional endeavors within the organization.
RequirementsMust be able to allocate 20 hours per week to your internship
Must commit to 12 weeks of the internship program in its entirety
You must be willing to learn about the Veterans community
Excellent verbal and written communications skills is a must
