DescriptionOld Line Publishing and Maple Creek Media provide publishing services for authors. Old Line Publishing provides traditional publishing services and Maple Creek Media provide self-publishing services. Both of these business entities pay authors royalties on the sales of their books every four months. Gathering the sales figures, putting it into spreadsheets, verifying calculations, printing out PDFs, sending emails, etc...takes quite a bit of time. We would like to automate this process thereby reducing the amount of time it takes to generate the data and reporting it to our clients. We're hoping you can help us by creating an automated or semi-automated database that can import, process, calculate, and report the data with as little human interaction as possible.
Currently our process is complex and labor intensive. The sources of information vary, but most of data can be downloaded in the form of an excel spreadsheet. Currently we are using excel as our processing software, but it is not automated and while some calculations are built in, many are not. So we're looking for one individual who can understand our source information and find a way to bring it all together into one database that has the ability to disseminate the information and provide reports to authors via email.
While I consider myself computer literate, I am not a programmer and I'm certain you'll need additional information to make a good decision. So feel free to ask questions.
