DescriptionDreaming Big Publications is a small press with a main focus on mental health issues, memoirs, nonfiction. We also are nerds and will accept a good fiction story on occasion.
We are looking for one marketing intern to help build our email marketing list, create newsletters/press releases, and assist with social media advertising. The intern should know where to solicit reviews for books, as well as post Call for Submissions (or at least be willing to research these things). Each book may have a different targeted audience based on genre.
This is an unpaid internship, lasting for a minimum of three months, with the opportunity to extend this time if agreeable. The intern will have access to free ebooks to read, and will have the opportunity to read books to write reviews as well. After the three months internship period, if the intern chooses to stay on, a royalty agreement can be negotiated based on results of the marketing efforts which will hopefully increase sales.
Responsibilities- Create signage, newsletters, email campaigns, online promotions, etc.
- Provide support to social media efforts to target new audiences.
- Research and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials.
- Create press releases for new books and coordinate with the authors if needed to help set up reviews.
Requirements- Possess creativity, flexibility, variety, and growth potential.
- Should be open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
- should be a "self-starter", able to take the initiative and work alone.
Due to the large number of applicants who are applying with copy and paste form letters and not reading instructions, I will no longer apply to anyone who applies on here. All applicants must look up my website (It's simple - Google Dreaming Big Publications and find it) look at my website and find my email address on there, email me and make sure to spell my name and the company name correctly, and mention at least one of the books that we have published and offer marketing advice on the book. This lets me know that you can follow instructions and have the initiative that it takes to be an intern with us. If you cannot follow these very simple instructions and do the very simple research that it takes to do a Google search and find my website and get my email address from it, then you definitely do not have what it takes to be an intern in this field, much less in marketing, and the response that you get from me will be to deny your application. I will only consider applicants who can follow these instructions and email me. Thank you for understanding.
