DescriptionConey Island Press, Inc. is my woman-owned Chicago-based publishing house. If person is in Chicago it might be great to meet from time to time: outside of Chicago it is a virtual Internship.
I am launching a nostalgic coffee-table book called Bandstand Diaries. It is about the Dick Clark Philadelphia days of this television show (1956 to 1963). The book is about the local teenage dancers who appeared and danced daily. They became national celebrities. To this day, baby boomers wonder whatever became of these "Regulars." My book, written with one of the most popular Regulars, Arlene Sullivan, is a combination yearbook/breezy essay/ nostalgic journey back to the 1950s keepsake. It will be self-published this Summer, 2015. It's the book fans have waited over 50 years to read!
ResponsibilitiesAbility to "pitch" news stories about book: nostalgia, Dick Clark's importance, the start of rock and roll which was made popular and respectable on American Bandstand.
