Los Angeles Review of Books RADIO HOUR / PODCAST

Bookmark This

The Los Angeles Review of Books is a nonprofit, multimedia literary and cultural arts magazine that combines the great American tradition of the serious book review with political and cultural essays, profiles and interviews with leading scholars and artists, and a host of multimedia offerings including video interviews, short documentary features, and podcasts.

We are seeking an intern to join the team of the LARB Radio Hour, our latest multimedia effort, which is (actually) a roughly 30-minute variety show about all things related to literature. The show airs weekly on KPFK 90.7 FM here in Los Angeles and is distributed on iTunes as a podcast. This is an opportunity to get hands-on experience in all facets of radio production, including pre-production and booking guests, engineering, editing, web production and media outreach.

Please e-mail your resume, any relevant web links, and a brief cover letter to boris@lareviewofbooks.org. Volunteers (not seeking college credit) are welcome to apply.

You will be expected to commit to 10 hours a week, which includes assisting during a weekly recording session and another 4-6 hours of editing and web production.

Some audio production and/or editing experience is recommended. A strong interest in literature and some technical savvy is a must.

Preferred - Avid Editor, WordPress, iTunes
