Description

The Property Management Assistant Intern will report directly to the Vice President and support the Property Management Division with managing multiple projects (e.g., policies and procedures, on-site support, reporting, budgeting and general work related to day to day operations).
The Property Management Assistant Intern should be prepared to actively support the Vice President of Property Management and positively impact all properties and their operations.

Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualities
• Yardi knowledge and Microsoft Access required
• Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and goal-oriented
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
• Flexible and able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Accurate, detail oriented, dependable, and punctual
• Willingness and patience to iteratively improve/refine work product
• Advanced MS Office Suite skills
• Strong computer and Internet skills

Education and Experience
• Business Administration, or Real Estate majors preferred
• Relevant work experience a plus

Compensation and Schedule
• A stipend will be paid
• 25 to 40 hours per week for 8-10 weeks

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (as determined by the Vice President)
• Gather information and assemble policies and procedures manual
• Assist in budget preparation
• Document management including scanning all documents into electronic filing system
• Yardi knowledge and Microsoft Access required
• Assist with Property Management improvement plan creation and implementation
• Provide coverage at sites as needed in conjunction with Regional Manager
• Perform market research, demographic studies, apartment database reviews, and competitive analysis.
• Develop a matrix of key competitors including property locations, specific amenities, and pricing in strategic markets and submarkets.
**Additionally, the Vice President may assign the Property Management Assistant Intern special projects specifically suited to the employee’s interest, experience and qualifications.
