Carter is currently seeking qualified applicants for the following position:
Position Title: Real Estate Intern
Location: Atlanta, GA
Carter seeks to hire qualified Intern for the summer, currently enrolled in an undergraduate or MBA program, to work 15-25 hours per week, focusing on supporting efforts to identify new student housing development opportunities and performing tasks that support the pursuit of identified projects.
•Become familiar with fundamentals of student housing through one-one meetings, reading up on research materials, learning about Carter's past work in student housing arena, and becoming versed on industry players/competitors
•Reviewing the listings of pre-identified potential schools or school markets and work with student housing team leaders to create a prioritized list of schools, approach, plan, and metrics
•Working within an individual market to analyze off-campus student housing dynamics, including investigating the following areas: enrollment growth, on-campus housing trends, recent new developments, state of competitive projects, market rents, market amenities, etc.
•Researching available sites and optimal neighborhoods/ area for locating new student housing
•Performing due diligence as requested related to specific sites for locating new student housing
•Assisting with research activities related to the creation of equity and debt packages
•Assisting in the financial analysis and underwriting of identified new projects, including advanced Excel and Argus modeling.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
