DescriptionUnder the direct supervision of a staff member in the field office, the intern will be reponsible for providing support to ALSAC’s marketing and fundraising efforts for various events. This may include but not limited to, assisting staff with operations related to current fundraising activities, assisting in researching corporate sponsorship opportunities, writing press releases, making cold calls for auction items and food donations, researching target data for various programs, assisting in mailings, securing reservations, creating sponsor proposals, packing and unpacking for events, various creative tasks and brainstorming, assisting in all aspects of office duties and day to day functions of the office.
ResponsibilitiesYour day may consist of one or more of the following tasks:
• Public relations/Customer Service
• Volunteer Recruitment
• Cold Calls for Auction or Food Donations
• Writing Press Releases
• Letter Writing
• Creating a Sponsorship Proposal
• Various Creative Tasks and Brainstorming
• Assembling Radio Format Books
• Compiling and Calling on Media Lists
• Research of Target Data for Various Programs
• Securing Reservations
• Packing and Unpacking for Events
• Lifting 20-30 Pounds
• Making Copies
• Sending Faxes
• Sending E-Mails
• Compiling and Maintaining Event Excel Spreadsheets
• Helping with Mailings
• Putting Together Binders
• Printing Envelopes/Labels
• Answering Phones

? Interns must have a degree of judgement; ability to speak and write clearly and concisely for internal and external relationships.
? Good oral and written communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
? Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
? Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student (in good standing).
? Major in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or other liberal arts background.
? Must be at least 18 years of age
