Seasonal Intern (3-month assignment)
ResponsibilitiesPosition Description ~ Global Research Assistant:
You will capture, review and evaluate research on the history, culture and policy of Jamaica and also keep current on issues in the diaspora.
Your primary responsibilities:
Researching Jamaican lifestyle and popular stories on the island.
Researching legal and policy issues concerning Jamaica and the Jamaican Diaspora.
Researching and gathering data for potential funding opportunities.
This position requires working a minimum of 5 hours per week for a period of 3 months or longer.
This is an unpaid internship.
Extremely detail-oriented and organized
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Ability to work collaboratively
Excellent writing and internet research skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient in Google Apps (Gmail, Drive, Hangout)
Mac & PC proficiency
High School Diploma Required
BA/BS from an accredited institution
Note: Undergraduate or Graduate students preferred, but high-achieving high school students are encouraged to apply.
