Description

The mission of Sapna NYC ( formerly Westchester Square Partnership WSP) is to promote health, empowerment, and social justice in the New York South Asian community. Sapna NYC collaborates with community members and organizations to provide services and develop participatory research projects that reflect the needs and priorities of the communities in which we work.

Sapna NYC is looking for a skilled intern to aid in the administration of our participatory research programs. The position is best suited to someone who has experience in database management and can commit 10-15 hours per week at our location in the Bronx. The internship is unpaid, though a metrocard will be provided for each day of work, as well as a small stipend to cover lunch. We’re happy to assist those in need of academic or community service credit.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Help develop Sapna NYC’s research database, an online REDCap project
o Learn general navigation of REDCap projects and help train staff and volunteers in using it properly
o Oversee mass imports of client information from Excel into REDCap
o Scan and upload signed consent forms to appropriate client records
o Help run data reports and analysis
- Manage Sapna NYC’s donor database, a Salesforce CRM platform
o Add any new contact, donor, volunteer, or partner organization information as it’s obtained
o Keep donation and pledge records updated
o Send invoices to donors when donations are received
- Work with staff to coordinate research interviews
o Conduct screenings, intakes, and qualitative interviews as needed
o Translate and transcribe interviews as needed
o Maintain and update participant files

Requirements

Qualifications
- Fluency in spoken Bengali, Hindi or Urdu preferred (proficiency in reading/writing a plus)
- Experience working with data entry and analysis required
- Knowledge of donor database management (specifically Salesforce CRM) preferred
- Must be detail-oriented – capable of producing error-free reports
- Should have an interest in participatory research
- Sociable and outgoing personality
