DescriptionAbout the Project
The Art Walk is a walking tour of SoHo that focuses on the many works of public art in downtown Manhattan and interlaces it with noteworthy architecture and interesting historical facts. The tour which has been going on for over a year and focusses on the story behind the art, the artists, and the circumstances that helped the downtown art scene flourish in the 1960’s and 70’s.
The Art Walk is quickly expanding into a multi-faceted project. Currently, a website, app, and coffee table book are in the beginning stages.
The intern will work on researching and writing much of the content. He/She will be working side by side with the rest of the team on all aspects of the project and all work will be credited appropriately. The internship will be located in a spacious Brooklyn office. Paid internships and stipends will be considered.
About the Studio
The Art Walk was created by The Office For Visual Affairs, a small branding and web design studio. Past clients have included NYU, CUNY J-School, NYTimes and a number of tech startups. While The Art Walk is currently a side project, it is on the path to becoming a self-sustaining business. The office itself is a big, bright, open space, full of snacks, coffee, and warmth.
