DescriptionThe Maryland Agricultural Resource Council (MARC) is a non-profit organization. Our mission is agricultural education. We provide events, programs, and workshops for the public on 149 acres. A farm history internship is available during the fall, spring, and/or summer. Hours are flexible. Occasional evening or Saturday/Sunday would be required. This is a non-paid internship. We are located at the Baltimore County Agricultural Center and Farm Park. Most of your time would be spent in the office but you would need to be comfortable with working on a farm. Responsibilities- research agricultural equipment (particularly a early 20th century cider mill)
-help with a preliminary archaeology survey and summer camp
-researching Baltimore County farms 17th - early 20 century
-creating a farm interpretation plan
Requirements- Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in American history, American studies, historic preservation, or museum studies
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess creativity and flexibility.
- Should be open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
