Description

The internship will allow the student an opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the areas of data analytics in different aspects of sports performance, injury prevention and sport science. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is interested in the interplay of data and the optimization of sport performance. The appropriate individual has a passion for education in the areas of sport science, health, wellness, nutrition, sport performance and injury prevention. The individual has a strong background in analytics, statistics and math. The successful applicant will work in a series of projects utilizing various data sets to aid in better understanding of athletic performance and the reduction of injuries. The data sets are utilized for research in sport science. Applications will be accepted from students currently enrolled in a University/college program. The internship will be unpaid and priority will be given to students who can gain college credit for the internship program. This internship will be approximately 20 hours per week (highly flexible schedule).
Job Description
• Analyze data sets, create regression equations and various algorithms to provide practical information for coaches, athletes, scientists.
• Create and curate summary documents (including white papers and publishable research papers in scientific and academic journals).
• Work to increase exposure both nationally and internationally
• Assist in other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
• Currently completing undergraduate or masters degree in data analytics, math, statistics or similar field
• Extremely computer and Internet savvy
• Proficient in Office Suite and statistical analysis software
• Excellent written communication skills
• Extremely organized and detail oriented
• Must have good follow through skills
• Ability to work from home, independently, efficiently, and prioritize
• located in the greater Atlanta area (Georgia, USA) (PREFERRED)
