Description

We are currently looking for interns to assist with research and marketing efforts related to our slate of social justice documentaries. GOOD DOCS is a boutique documentary distributor that focuses on the educational/non-theatrical market, and distributes films to students and campuses around the United States and beyond. The internship is 6- 12 hours a week for a total of 120 hours. Typically interns work with us for 1-3 month period depending on their schedule. Interns should be available to come either or both Tuesdays and Thursdays to work with us at our Chinatown office. Small stipend position, or work-study available. Please note this is NOT a documentary film production or editing internship.

Responsibilities

Intern duties include working with the GOOD DOCS team on researching and conducting outreach to conferences, reviewers, educators, students, non profits and national advocacy organizations for several films. Some of our interns have also conducted filmmaker interviews, analyzed email marketing campaigns, written marketing material, developed social media content and helped with acquisitions. Interns learn about our own tried and true methods, as well as develop special projects to test out their own marketing and outreach ideas when possible.

Requirements

Interns must have a demonstrated interest in social justice issues, documentary film, grassroots marketing and the activist issues presented by our films. Our interns tend to have a background in Film/ Media Studies, Sociology, Journalism, Communications and/or Marketing, and they are interested in the following groups and issues: Women, LGBTQ. African-American, Latin@, Asian-American, the Environment, Labor, Sexual Assault Prevention, and Human Rights.
