Job Description: As an intern, you will assist the Buying department as needed and be an active participant in the Diesel business.Primarily, you will learn about the various facets of the buying process. This includes aspects of in-season analysis, through which you learn about our business, develop retail math and analytical skills, and connect your learnings to very real life scenarios. This also includes market prep, where you will assist as we develop our hind-sighting, work with the collection, and create the actual buys.

Responsibilities

WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in creating weekly sales analysis recaps
• Help assemble visual directives & other time sensitive projects
• Help to create competitive market analysis recaps for the buyers
• Attend and observe meetings with buyers & upper management to better understand the business
• Support all other day-to-day operations as needed

MARKET RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Help buyers to produce in-market buy recaps, utilized in line review with upper management & cross-functional teams
• Organize files & helps with sample management
• Assist with order entry in the system for transmission
• Prepare seasonal training guides, based on the buys, for the store management teams

Requirements

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Able to earn school credit at a US accredited college or graduate school
• Able to dedicate a minimum of 16 hours a week
• Detail-oriented and very organized
• Able to prioritize time and projects
• Proficient in both Excel and Power Point (knows v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
• Creative, with an eye for fashion
• Strong communicators
• Able to constructively utilize downtime
• Versed to some degree in retail math
• Conversant with current fashion trends
