Description

1.Observes and participates in operations of gift shop; buying, stocking, pricing, merchandise display and daily balancing of the gift shop.
2.Learns about cash balancing for end of day
3.Learns how to authorize payment to vendors through accounting.
4.Learns and assists with inventory via barcode system – also used for pricing.
5.Learns about staffing schedule of volunteers to work in gift shop.
6.Provide training to volunteers.
7.Observes payroll deduction information to be sent to payroll.
8.Assist with annual physical inventory.
9.Miscellaneous filing of invoice/packing slip/receiving report
10.Provides feedback on gift shop processes and recommends areas for improvement with proposed solutions.

Responsibilities

Is able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally with frequent lifting of 10 lbs. Stooping and use of step stool/ladder required. Good manual and finger dexterity. Hearing and vision corrected to within normal range.

Requirements

College student working toward a degree in Commerce, Business Management. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Computer skills and cash register skills required for general knowledge of system computers. Accounting and/or retail experience preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
