DescriptionAlchemy Detroit designs luxury basics for hardworking career women, stay at home moms, young professionals, and mature matriarchs. Born in Detroit, our made in America brand is committed to reviving classic American craftsmanship for women with an exceptional line of blazers, Italian jersey tees, and cashmere scarves.
Heading into our second selling season, we are excited about growing the brand both online and in wholesale. We are looking for part-time interns in two distinct areas. Interns will be working directly with the founder. Preferred interns to be located in Southeast Michigan but a Detroit location is not required. This is a four month commitment.
Wholesale Fashion Development & Business Operations: Current undergraduate with strong interest in Sales
We are seeking confident and innovative self-starters with a true passion for boutique fashion. This is an excellent opportunity for an aggressive up-and-coming fashion sales marketer with a desire for real-world experience in an early-stage startup environment.
ResponsibilitiesResearch suspect and prospect wholesale accounts to create a refined list of mutually relevant boutiques.
Reach out to relevant boutiques by phone and email, sharing the Alchemy brand story to secure a sales meeting. With proven success, the candidate would be able to hold sales meetings and earn commission from sales he or she generates. With demonstrated success at the end of the internship, this position could lead to a sales position.
Establish and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers.
Maintain correspondence in a timely, professional, and understanding manner.
As orders are written the candidate is responsible for communicating with the retailer in a timely fashion to secure the sale and maintain communication and strengthen the business relationship.
Opportunity to attend local, regional, and national fashion trade shows.
RequirementsPassion for fashion retail, with an understanding of the boutique women’s contemporary sportswear market.
Experience in wholesale or retail highly preferred.
Strong organizational skills to create new relationships with boutiques, private department stores, online boutiques, and major department stores (Neiman Marcus, Saks, Nordstrom, Bergdorfs, Barneys, etc.).
Strong writing and conversational ability for reaching out to boutiques and retailers with our products.
Driven to work in an entrepreneurial environment

Strong communication and organizational skills
High-level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to commit a minimum of 4 months and at least 2 days a week, 1 day in office and one remotely
