Always be on the alert for potentially fraudulent job postings online - never send money to a potential employer.
DescriptionAflac is a Fortune 500 company, and the world’s largest provider of supplemental benefits. In a recession, when business owners are scaling back on the health insurance offered to their employees, Aflac provides a free way for employers to offer benefits to those who work for them.
Our internship will focus mostly on assisting our agency in managing our client base and introducing new businesses to our product line. We have approximately 1000 business clients as well as a handful of individual clients. We do quarterly benefit reviews and we expect that once our interns have been trained that they will be able to conduct these reviews alone. We estimate that the first 3 weeks of their internship will be spent training on product knowledge for our various carriers. Additionally we will guide our interns in obtaining their California Health producer’s license so that they can properly represent our company with the appropriate knowledge of the rules and regulations of the insurance industry. This is also a huge benefit of our internship because this license will last for 2 years and will be a very valuable addition to a college student’s resume when they are seeking full time employment upon graduation.
In the first 30 days of our internship we will pair the student with a senior member of our staff for field training in addition to a general product knowledge training which we conduct at our office. We represent many major carriers such as Aetna, BC/BS, and New Benefits among others. Additionally we will train our interns on how to work with other benefit providers and professional contacts to expand both our client base and our networking base.
