DescriptionIMPORTANT: *While this internship does offer some compensation, we are pulling from our internship base to find solid employees for full-time paid positions. Internships last 3 months and could end in a paid position offer. If you have an interest in the publishing business or more specifically, the 'magazine' publishing business or in advertising or advertising sales, this is likely a great fit! You will learn all about the fast paced / deadline-driven world of magazine publishing. You will also learn about a business model similar to that of a 'franchise' if you have interest in the world of 'franchising.'
VigilantShopper, llc is a full color, high-gloss, direct-mail coupon 'shopper' magazine with publications growing throughout the United States including TampaBay.
We strive to provide our readers with the #1 resource for finding reputable and quality products and services in their local market places.We offer advertising opportunities to local (and occasionally regional and national) businesses with circulations in Largo, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia and Los Angeles, California with new markets launching every month. We aim to increase visibility, in-store traffic and overall sales revenues for our advertisers by introducing their brands, products and services to a high-earning audience with expendable incomes and upscale lifestyles by way of a beautifully designed coupon magazine that positions a 'best-face-forward' introduction for our advertisers. Our mailing routes are strategically hand-picked for the best routes in each market based on income and home values. Our readers are the movers and shakers of local economies throughout the U.S. They're savvy. They're 'Vigilant' and they're ready to do business with our advertisers.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Currently seeking motivated self-starters who are eager to learn and who have an interest in all things 'advertising sales.' In this role you will learn how to prospect new business and how to navigate through the entire sales cycle of magazine advertising. Involves a combination of 'hunting' / 'prospecting' new business and 'managing' current business.
ResponsibilitiesProspecting new business
Managing current business
Developing relationships within the local community of SME's (*small/medium size enterprises)
Cold-calling (*both by phone and in-person)
Occasional Trade show participation
Email and AD spec writing
RequirementsRelationship development is essential; must be good with people and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (*Word, PPT, Excel and 'Outlook')
Must have a positive attitude and a strong will to succeed
