Wide Open Media Group is recruiting an Advertising and Sales Intern to learn about and assist with the full life-cycle of the digital advertising and sales process which directly supports the growth of Wide Open Spaces, Wide Open Country, Wide Open Pets, and Wide Open Eats. This individual will be working hand-in-hand with our Account Executive to learn the full cycle of the digital advertising and sales process in our media network environment. This is a very hands-on internship for someone interested in sales and advertising as it relates to digital media.

The position will be located at our offices in Downtown Austin at 801 Congress, and the expected workload is around 20-25 hours a week, with more hours potentially being available over time. Depending on the intern's personal situation and experience, the internship could be either for credit, or potentially paid. This will be discussed in greater detail during the interview process.


Responsibilities

Scope of Internship:
- 20% - Prospecting perspective clients for the network
- 20% - Research and development on innovative digital advertising solutions
- 20% - Outreach to perspective clients to kick-start conversations
- 20% - Template and playbook building - Optimizing and documenting success of sales outreach/success for future team members
- 20% - Execution - Working with existing and new clients on advertising campaigns and delivery of innovative placements

Requirements

Requirements:
- An individual with a sales mindset, who is looking to build experience toward a sales career post-graduation
- An individual who is self-motivated to work without limited supervision
- An individual who is very comfortable talking on the phone pitching new clients on our advertising products and with existing advertisers
- An individual who is highly organized and can manage multiple contacts / outreach activities
- Communication and good writing skills are a must given this position will require extensive email outreach and phone call communication
