Position Purpose:
The Antelope Valley Water Bank Intern is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties directly related to the operations of our private sector water bank in Antelope Valley. Operating mainly from our corporate office in Hollywood, this position will require occasional trips to the field site in or around Lancaster, CA. This position will be a PART-TIME internship (approximately 20 hours/week) for six months.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Assist the General Manager and/or Project Engineer in the preparation of the following:
• AVWB water database and spreadsheets to track and report water recharged into and extracted out of our bank
• Electronic data transfers for the water database such as meteorological and evaporation data
• Regulatory permits needed to certify our wells with the California Department of Public Health
• Plans for design and construction of new AVWB facilities
• Materials needed to complete the California Environmental Quality Act documents to expand the bank capacity
• Marketing and financial materials for the Antelope Valley Water Bank
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Educational/Experience Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc):
• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a BS in Environmental Sciences or a related field
• Master of Science or Business Administration is desirable
• Superior work ethic demonstrating reliability and commitment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated excellence in academics and work experience
• Proven computer skills including proficiency with databases such as GPS databases, a plus
• Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with finance or marketing, a plus
