Invention / Patent / Intellectual Property licensing intern needed to contact law firms and manufacturers An intern is needed to email manufacturers and intellectual property law firms so we can inquire about licensing our intellectual property. Available to all; being a legal/law student is not required. We are a new IP holder and manufacturer in Santa Monica, and have several patent applications filed. We are just starting to make contact with law firms and manufacturers for the purpose of finding companies who will license this IP from us. Most of your work will be searching for law firm and manufacturer contact information, making email contacts, and providing our IP info to them. The IP area is food/bio/agriculture, and our first published patent application is here: http://algaescrubber.net/SantaMonica-UAS-PCT-app.pdf Have fun learning about the hundreds of different types of manufacturers and law firms, and the best ways of contacting them. This is an ongoing internship; there are no start and stop dates. It works great if you are considering working in the legal field, or if you just want to learn to market your own inventions! No pay, but you will be first in line to be considered for paid positions. Full training is provided, as well as school credit if needed. If school credit is not needed then resume' credit and references are given instead. There is no driving or meetings required. You must work at least 10 hours per week from our Santa Monica office which is open Mon-Sat from 8am to 7pm, and your hours are super flexible so you can come and go whenever you need to. Economic Development & Events Intern

The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce is seeking full and part-time summer interns this summer to assist in marketing and business attraction work. Interns will work under the Chambers Director of Economic Development and Government Affairs and Program and Events Manager. The ongoing mission of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce is to serve the local business community through marketing, advocacy and education. The Chamber - with its committees, councils, staff and valuable members - works with city officials, local businesses and the community at large to promote the local economy. The interns duties will include: Conducting research on businesses deemed a good fit for Beverly Hills. We expect interns to have excellent research skills and be able to find and collate information on companies (in other words, demonstrated ability to use Web resources beyond Google). Update database of Chamber members. Great phone etiquette a must. Ability to participate in Chambers local marketing initiatives, help strategize and create collateral Contribute to eNewsletter and Website: brainstorming content ideas, contact members for submissions, track and manage content monthly Perform duties similar to that of a marketing coordinator and event planning. Help out the Director on an as-needed basis producing committee events put on by the Chamber this may involve some clerical work. Have good Excel skills (sort data, etc.). Prefer an individual knowledgeable and conversant with the LA region This internship is ideal for an individual who has an interest in how local municipalities conduct economic development and how a Chamber of Commerce promotes its member businesses. Were looking for people who are level-headed and resourceful and able to find quality information with minimal supervision. He/she must also be a good team player who will perform the occasional clerical tasks with good cheer. As part of the internship, the intern will be able to sit in on certain events and committee meetings and be exposed to the day-to-day operations of the Chamber of Commerce. We are a small office and past interns have often had great responsibility for certain projects. The position is unpaid and can be used as course credit. Interns are expected to work anywhere between two-to-four days a week for a total of 16-32 hours a week. The office is located on South Santa Monica Blvd at Canon Drive with parking a block away.
