The Tucson Metro Chamber is the pre-eminent resource and advocate for business in Southern Arizona. The Tucson Metro Chamber is seeking qualified applicants for our accounting intern position. The student filling this position will handle a wide range of duties in the Finance and Operations department assisting the finance and operations director. This is a year round unpaid internship. Summer hour requirements at least 16 hours up to 32 hours a week. School year hour requirements at least 8 hours up to 24 hours a week. The ideal candidate would be able to give at least a six month time commitment.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES In this entry-level professional accounting role, the Accounting Intern will be responsible for maintaining an up to date Accounts Payable, assist with record keeping, and provide financial reports of various levels. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Process and record vendor bills Assist with updating accounting database records as needed Create financial reports on a case by case basis from a database Update multiple online documents on a monthly basis Assist in yearly audit preparation and archiving financial records Other duties and/or special projects as requested REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Junior or senior level student working toward an Accounting, Finance, or other relevant degree Excellent PC experience, particularly with Excel and database applications Accounts payable and general accounting experience in a high-volume environment preferred Demonstrated desire and aptitude to quickly learn new information Required technical knowledge: GoogleDocs, QuickBooks, Excel.
