Studio Assistant/ Intern

Amy Rice ArtMinneapolis, MN
Minneapolis artist seeks an intern/ studio assistant As the director of an award winning visual arts nonprofit for 10 years, I supervised many interns from colleges and universities throughout the Twin Cities area. I can provide references from these interns asserting to their positive experiences and gainful outcomes. One year into my career as a full time artist, and having a professional working studio, I am in a position to accept an intern. In exchange for general help around the studio, some mundane and boring (organizing letterpress fonts, cleaning paintbrushes, sorting paint), some résumé worthy/ skill building (helping to hang work, simple framing, assisting in hand-pulled print runs, documenting artwork) I will assist a young artist in seeking out exhibition venues, review their portfolio, and help with tasks like writing an artists statement and documenting work. I have much experience in helping others achieve their art career goals. I also have great contacts and make an excellent reference. I would prefer the internship to be through a school/ program, but would consider candidates not currently enrolled. The internship is UNPAID. However, I do have 10-15 hours of organizational work I need done that I wouldnt feel right about getting done for me by an intern for free. So, a short term part time job comes with the internship and could lead to a more permanent, part-time studio assistant position. Requirements: -Be able to transport yourself to my studio in NE Minneapolis -Available 4 hours a week (negotiable depending on your schools internship policies and requirements) -Be computer savvy. Having your own laptop you bring with you would be helpful but not necessary. -Be organized -Be a self-starter I will begin interviewing potential candidates in late June. Interested applicants please send an email to me at amyr@amyrice.com telling me about yourself, your art career goals, and why you would like to be my intern.

MEK ReviewPalisades Park, NJ
MEK is a learning academy located in Palisades Park, NJ, with a second location opening in Edison in 2012. We embody the same integrity and dedication we expect from our students, to which we infuse the skill, knowledge, strength, and experience of our diverse, professional backgrounds. As MEK expands to a second, larger location in Edison, teachers are needed for English Language Arts and Math.
