Company Overview:
Since its opening in 1971, the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, FL has grown to feature four theme parks the Magic Kingdom ® Park, Epcot ®, Disneys Hollywood Studios ®, and Disneys Animal Kingdom ® Theme Park. In addition, more than 20 themed resort hotels, two water parks, and the Downtown Disney® Area, a daytime and nighttime entertainment complex, are part of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Department Overview:
Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Creative Entertainment is a dynamic entertainment environment, offering nothing less than the perfect show for millions of guests worldwide. An integral part of this organization is the Show Development & Production Design department that is responsible for the development of designs/scenic treatments/logos/graphics for live shows including parades, stage shows and special events on and off the Disney property and onboard the Disney Cruise Line.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Basic design, including computer graphics, painting, mounting of artwork
  • Work in varied design programs, including Photoshop, Artworks and occasionally Illustrator
  • Create mood boards for design projects
  • Communicate clearly with Art Directors and designers, workroom personnel and other design Assts.
  • Attend appropriate Creative Entertainment seminars and meetings
  • Create at least one set of new designs as an assignment
  • Set up Entertainment conference room for project/creative reviews and shows
  • Assist with design research
  • Log and store finished original artwork in resource library
  • Deliver/Pickup artwork from show locations
  • Prepare CD documentation and storage
  • Input/access data in computer programs


Basic Qualifications These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for this position:

  • Currently earning a college/university degree in Graphic Design, or related field
  • 3.0 Overall G.P.A.
  • Completion of at least three years of college courses
  • Ability to learn new design software applications as appropriate
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and confidential information
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency within a Windows environment such as Excel, MS PowerPoint, and with pertinent software such as Photoshop, Artworks, Illustrator
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative and drive
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict/resolution and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated strong partnering skills

Additional InformationInternship Eligibility:
  • Must be enrolled in a U.S. college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Not have already completed two consecutive (spring/fall) College or Professional Internship Programs
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)


Program Length:
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2013 through January 2014. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

Housing:
A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Santa Bannon, principal of SB/FA, regularly attends the most important art fairs in the world such as Art Basel, Art Miami, Paris Photo, Photo LA, AIPAD, Scope, among others, to keep abreast of current art trends as well as availability in the blue chip art market. Santa Bannon also attends artists opening/closing exhibitions locally, in New York and Philadelphia researching established and emerging artists and connecting with them for collaborations or commission of new work. We judiciously view fine art and review artists both regionally and internationally to bring our clients work with staying power. We attend and buy at the major auction houses and can research any vintage or contemporary work our clients may have interest in. Should we be unable to procure that certain piece, we can certainly facilitate an introduction. We assist erudite collectors find appropriate pieces in most media to expand existing collections as well as welcome the novice collector find their way in starting a collection or to simply purchase something they love. SB/FA is located in the heart of the thriving arts community at ArtsQuest Banana Factory.
