The Programming Intern is involved in a wide range of tasks and responsibilities surrounding chashama's Studio and Gallery Exhibition Programs reporting directly to the Programming Director and Programming Assistant.

The George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts (GRFA) is seeking interns to assist with 2013 summer art camps. Interns will gain understanding in art education, arts integration and early childhood development while supporting a team of experienced art teachers and specialists. GRFA summer art camps are designed to inspire students to create and develop their own unique artistic style while exposing them to a wide variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional media. Each class explores age-appropriate elements of art and focuses on building a strong foundation in creative design. Qualified candidates should demonstrate a willingness to work with children ages three to thirteen. A background in the visual or performing arts is preferred, but not required. Other responsibilities include basic office tasks such as answering the phone, faxing, filing, photocopying and greeting visitors. Candidate must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and database application. Good reading, writing and communication skills is a must. The candidate may also be asked to help outside the office for special projects. Qualifications: No major is preferred, but candidate should have an interest in non-profit/charity work as well as a general understanding of the arts. The George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 2009 by the George Rodrigue family. GRFA mission is to advocate and support the development of our youth through the visual arts in education. There are several programs that GRFA has designed to meet this important objective. First, GRFA hosts an annual art contest and scholarship program for high school juniors and seniors. In two years, GRFA has awarded over $80,000 in college scholarships to Louisiana high school students. Second, Georges Art Closet is an program where GRFA will donate art supplies to schools that need it the most. Third, GRFA develops lesson plans for k-12 based on the art on George Rodrigue which are designed to integrate art into the classroom.

We've moved into an art studio in the Pilson neighborhood and in need of a few geniuses to help take our business to new heights. Our specialty is custom graphics for start up businesses & entrepreneurs and designing invitations and stationery for birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions. We have partnered with another business owner and will be hosting events and craft workshops on a weekly basis. Interns may often be asked to teach or assist with workshops as well. Looking for serious applicants only. We are willing to train you in some areas if needed.

This is a great opportunity to see the inner workings of a nonprofit arts organization. Intern responsibilities will vary depending on the skills and abilities of the individual and the needs of the organization. Interns may be asked to assist in event planning, project management, grant report compilation and packaging, and general office tasks. They will have the opportunity to participate in staff meetings and will be exposed to all facets of the organization. We are looking for someone who can work from 10 20 hours a week. This is currently an unpaid internship, though school credit can be offered if needed.

Florida Grand Opera is seeking a part-time education intern, 10-20 hours per week to assist the Director in developing materials, establishing partnerships with schools, and school visits, if possible. Applicants must be available during regular business hours Mon - Fri, 9-5pm; attendance at all Final Dress Rehearsals is required. FGO offers one of the most hands-on internships available; you wont be expected to make all the copies (although some of that is part of everyones job). As a member of the Education team you will have the opportunity to work on new initiatives to engage current patrons more deeply and to reach a whole new group of potential opera lovers. In the past interns have made public presentations, worked with student groups, planned and managed summer camps, and helped create programming for the department.
