Writing and Research Internship opportunity working in downtown Manhattan in the TriBeCa studio of an internationally exhibited conceptual artist and photographer. The ideal candidate has the ability to articulate artworks from a visual, artistic and art historical perspective in a social/political context, which incorporates contemporary concerns that inform the artworks. We are looking for someone who is organized, responsible, thoughtful, positive and enthusiastic. Writing projects will include but not be limited to project descriptions and proposals, concise summaries of ideas, text for publication including exhibition catalogs and artists books.
A combination of research and conversations with the artist will inform the writing produced as part of this internship. An ideal candidate will be able to commit to a time period of nine-months or more. Full time prefered, part time considered.
This internship will allow for complete immersion in an artists current practice, as well as rich history of artworks spanning the past four decades. The scope of information to be understood and drawn upon creates a unique opportunity for in-depth study and scholarly research. This opportunity is an unpaid internship.
