Social Media, Internet, Advertising and Marketing Manager in a Travel Company

Wildlife TrailsVirtual
We are a small family run tour operator (travel company) based in the UK and France, specialising in bespoke wildlife tours around the world; from Tiger Safaris in India, to Gorilla Trekking in Uganda (www.wildlifetrails.co.uk). The company is based in the UK, but the owners live in France and have a very flexible attitude to where there employees live and work; with previous staff working out of Vancouver Island, Canada and London. We are a young, dynamic company with a strong ethical approach to every tour we put together for our clients. We donate 10% of our net profits to childrens education projects in India, and have sent financial aid to support conservation work for Polar Bears, to buy out hunting liceneces in British Colombia and to Sri Lanka after the 2004 Tsunami. We pride ourselves on taking the 'path less travelled' and would welcome the input of a young, energetic intern with serious qualifications and ambition; ideally an interest in wildlife and travel. They would have a real say in the direction of our company, rather than just being a 'number' in a large company. The owner of the company, Allan Blanchard, has a real pratical understanding of how promotion on the internet has helped the development of Wildlife Trails since it was launched in December 1999; because he did most of it! However he has an open mind and wants the intern to bring their own up to date ideas on how social media and the internet in 2013 and beyond can be used to promote the services of a wildlife company with an unparalled reputation of excellence and respect for their clients. Without investing in this side of the business we will have this 'great gem of a company' undiscovered by the next generation of travellers; as bigger companies ,with far less imagination and variety, try to dominate the internet through paid for advertising. This is a position that can be done anywhere in the world with a phone line and internet connection, and WILL REWARD the successful intern with a paid trip to one of our key wildlife destinations.
