  • Provide frontline product support for incoming phone, email and web based support requests.
  • Follow standard troubleshooting processes through resolution, document all issues in Perceptive Softwares issue tracking database.
  • Work with Perceptive Software team members to efficiently troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Work shift hours, provide back-up and emergency support when necessary.

Requirments

  • Previous help desk experience is a bonus.
  • Operating Systems: Windows 98/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista, Unix (Solaris, HP/UX, AIX), Linux.
  • Knowledge of Relational Database.
  • Scripting Skills.
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program seeking a Technical degree.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Knowledge of the following technologies is a plus:

  • Messaging Systems: Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange, Novell GroupWise.

Design & Engineering

  • Architecture and Facilities Engineering Intern
    Walt Disney World Architecture & Facilities Engineering division provides strategic and project support for Walt Disney World facilities. They support the Integrated Facilities Planning process developing scopes and budgets. They are responsible for the design of this portfolio of projects for Walt Disney World parks, resorts, water parks, roadways and back-of-house facilities. In addition, they provide design support to the Engineering Services routine requests. In-house subject matter experts include Architecture; Landscape Architecture; Civil/Structural Engineering; and Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Engineering. Each group provides discipline specific support through innovative design solutions and permit assistance on single and multi-discipline projects. Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    • Research of existing conditions/documentation and data collection
    • Conceptual design through bid & construct document preparation
    • Field observations during construction


  • Ride & Show Engineering - Advanced Technology, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Intern
    Walt Disney World Ride & Show Engineering division is responsible for designing, supervising the fabrication and testing of enhancements and new designs for ride vehicles and systems at the Walt Disney World Resort. Ride Engineering consists of both Mechanical Engineers focused on Machine Design and Electrical Engineers focused on Control Systems.


  • Software Engineering Intern
    Walt Disney World Scientific Systems division is responsible for providing software services for ride, show and other process control systems being developed and installed in the Disney parks. These services may include assisting with: software development; problem resolution; system operational enhancement; system reliability improvement and obsolescence planning. This individual will have limited responsibilities for providing these services.


Responsibilities

Facility Asset Management

  • Project and Construction Management Intern
    Facility Asset Management provides construction project management services and long-term facility planning for the Walt Disney World Resort. Their focus is to maintain the parks, attractions, rides, resorts, roads, retail shops and restaurants while preserving the overall show quality of the Walt Disney World Resort. Their world class project management staff manages all aspects of construction projects including design development, contractor bid and award, field management and close-out. Day-to-day responsibilities include the development of project scopes, schedule preparation and budget planning for a variety of projects. FAM hires interns majoring in Architecture, Engineering and Building Construction areas of study. Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of projects as directed by team leader using Primavera project planning software
    • Provide on-site review, inspections and reports of work in progress
    • Provide data analysis and recommendations
    • Review submittals for specification compliance and maintain submittal logs
    • Process all relevant project correspondence
    • Coordinate scheduled field activities with all affected parties


Engineering Services/Business Integration & Planning/Central Shops/Environmental

  • Global Engineering Parks and Resorts Intern
    Engineering Services provides a wide variety of maintenance and repair services for the operating and support teams within the four theme parks and resorts areas. The area is divided into several components which range from park attractions to resort facilities with each area having different responsibilities and technical expertise. Business Integration & Planning interns perform as internal business consultants to global clients within The Walt Disney Company which focuses on continuously improving people processes and business systems. These areas typically hire Electrical, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering majors.


    • Client Services and Manufacturing Planner Intern
      The Client Services Team provides project management for Walt Disney World Central Shops efforts, serving as the primary point of contact internally and externally on issues of cost, quality, schedule and communications. They partner effectively with internal estimating, planning, scheduling, finance and manufacturing disciplines as well as purchasing, engineering, and clients, to establish and achieve realistic commitments. The Manufacturing Planning Department is also a part of the Walt Disney World Central Shops organization. Central Shops builds the magic from ride vehicles to parade floats. The planning department receives various types of work requests and processes those requests into a working shop floor package with clearly defined scope for the manufacturing team, offering technical support and acquiring all required materials.


Basic QualificationsWorldwide Standards and Auditing

  • Quality Engineering & Fire Protection Engineering Intern
    The Worldwide Standards and Auditing (WSA) Team provides strategic and project development for all Walt Disney Parks and Resort facilities. They provide direction and offer guidance for many stakeholder groups throughout the world. WSA is seeking Interns to be part of a team responsible for creating and maintaining a wide variety of attraction design control, safety, maintenance, inspection, training, quality assurance programs, collecting data for fire protection systems and performing condition surveys for the global attractions at the Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. They work directly with a diverse group of Engineers to research, develop and implement changes to these programs. They typically hire Architecture and Engineering majors. Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    • Support Engineers in design and selection of replacement components and systems, improving reliability and reducing total lifecycle costs
    • Update drawings/designs in AutoCAD from redline markings
    • Perform field condition surveys; incorporate data into drawing package
    • Generate and review equipment specifications, initiate required procurement requisitions and fabrication orders
    • Work with other disciplines and trades to build, test, install and commission control equipment, while
      meeting/exceeding national codes and standards
    • Assist in troubleshooting and in the performance of Acceptance Test Procedures
    • Performing special tasks and projects as assigned



These are the minimum qualifications required to be considered for the position:

  • Junior, Senior or Graduate student status by arrival date
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree or Post Graduate degree at an accredited 4 year College or University
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Note: Cumulative GPA stated on resume and application must match cumulative GPA of current institutions transcript. Please, no rounding.)

    Our Environmental Engineer/Microbiologistinternship projects will focus on biological wastewater treatment. This internship focuses on product application and serves as a liaison between Research & Development, Manufacturing, and the Customer. Summer internships are designed to be best suited for students who have completed their junior year of college.
