DEVELOPMENT INTERN POSITION Department: Development South Florida Urban Ministries(SFLUM) Worksite: SFLUM Headquarters- Coconut Grove Primary Supervisor Title: Director of Development Position: Development-Intern Goal of Position/ Learning Objective: The Marketing & Development Intern will expand and strengthen the Development and Marketing Initiatives of SFLUM through research, identifying opportunities and broadening stakeholders base. Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Conduct research on Grants and potential funding resources. Tasks: ? Identify funding opportunities ? Develop summary and prepare proposals for Management 2. Participate in planning activities and events with Development Team Tasks: ? Develop newsletter guidelines for other programs of SFLUM ? Participate in development planning meetings and brainstorming sessions ? Coordinate communication among Development Team on meeting minutes ? Share ideas and bring in innovative methods to events and marketing of SFLUM ? Communicate any donor opportunity found through research and e-Tapestry update 3. Broaden and maintain donor base and acquisition system Tasks: ? Update the e-Tapestry System to ensure the information is accurate ? Contact donors to update information ? Research and create new opportunities for donor relations Length of commitment: 6 months 12 months Estimated total weekly hours: At least 20 hours Qualifications Sought Learning Outcomes: 1. Intern will have one-on-one experience to apply marketing and business administration knowledge in a real-world, dynamic environment. 2. Intern will have the chance to increase knowledge and gain skills in networking, establishing and maintaining rapport with various types of stakeholders of an organization. 3. Intern will learn how to create processes and how to communicate it with staff. 4. Intern will develop skills in using e-Tapestry, a major fundraising and donor management solutions software.
