The Disney.com team is looking for an intern to support the creation and migration of websites to our new responsive design platform. The intern will work as part of a cross-functional, agile development team to deliver our magical content to all users across all devices. Passionate & qualified candidates should apply online.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scripts to migrate data from legacy systems to new relational data management system driving Disney.com.
- Work directly with Disney.com engineering to minimize the amount of manual data migration.
Basic Qualifications
- Highly detail-oriented with solid organizational skills
- Has the potential to understand and work with an object-oriented data model
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, demanding environment
- Ability to adapt to and work with evolving functionalities in tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Fully qualified candidates must be available to work for 6 months beginning in January 2013.
- Candidates must be able to provide their own housing and transportation in the Glendale (Los Angeles) area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, C, Java and Transact-SQL a plus
- Full Availability preferred, but open to part time interns that have the ability to work 20+ hours / week
