ALSTOM Grid has an opening for an Intern APS (Alstom Production Systems) Engineering Intern in its north Phoenix location!
As an APS Engineering Intern you will be responsible for implementing Lean tools and standards on the shop floor and propose methods/tools to improve the SQCD (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery) performance.
This position is also responsible for:
* Application of APS requirements in DIT production including 5S, MIFA, Continuous Flow, and Waste Hunting.
* Studying manufacturing process for labor efficiency to identify ways to reduce direct labor hours required and strive to eliminate steps in the assembly process.
* Conducts process improvement studies to enhance the ease of assembly.
* Standardizes manufacturing processes to improve effectiveness.
* Updates assembly processes.
* Trains production employees on modified procedures.
* Help organize and assist with the relocation of Production to a new facility.
* Assist implementation of SAP enterprise requirements planning system into Production.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
General Qualifications:
* Working towards bachelor's degree in the Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering field.
* This position will be Full Time during the summer and part time during the fall semester.
