Through our Public Policy/Legislative Advocacy Program, we lobby members of the Texas Legislature and the leaders of Texas cities, towns and counties to enact policies that strengthen families and promote equality. The Public Policy/Legislative Advocacy internship at Equality Texas includes a variety of tasks in which you can use and develop your policy and advocacy skills. Public policy interns are utilized year-round to assist the department in achieving its goals. We are currently seeking interns for the Spring Semester. The minimum time commitment for academic year interns is one semester. Interns are encouraged to earn credit for their time, but volunteers are welcome as well. The Field Department of Equality Texas coordinates and encourages the activism of Equality Texas members statewide to advocate and lobby for the elimination of discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity/expression. Activism occurs through Equality Texas events, student clubs, and the e-mail action center network and member activists. Our activities to advance LGBT civil rights include Lobby Day at the Capitol, organizing phone banks, volunteer recruitment & retention, and staffing information tables. The Network Engineering Technical Development Program (NETDP) is the newest career development program of AT&T.


This three year program focuses on individual contributor functions and is designed to help you develop the technical

company. NETDP is open to graduates with outstanding academic accomplishment in the engineering,


math, and science disciplines, and features two separate job rotations that will involve engineering IP, wireless, and video

grow in the decades to come. The skills to succeed require candidates to learn new systems and technology quickly,

Responsible for the evaluation, procurement, design, technical specifications and support for Network equipment


and storage capacity. Prepares equipment maintenance requirements and policies, identifies and tracks equipment


deficiencies and designs / implements rearrangements and improvements. Plans, organizes and functions as equipment


SME for equipment selection and on-site installations. Interfaces with process engineering and maintenance to develop


and support new processes and applications. Sequences vendor schedules to insure proper interface and deployment.


Plans and designs layout, equipment selection, HVAC and power requirements, etc. Determines equipment required


for storage capacity needs. Manages capital and facility expense budgets. Liaison for hardware, facility vendors,

Position Description
As a Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Engineering Intern, you will be part of the Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation team within the Flight and Systems Technology division. Primary duties will be supporting engineers in their modeling, simulation and analysis of challenging and exciting design projects related to logistics, supply chain, business strategy, system performance, or combat and communication systems. You will be providing support using or developing optimization and/or continuous modeling and discrete-event simulation tools and methods to model system performance and/or architecture. Common tools used include Extend, Matlab, Model Center, System Dynamics, AnyLogic, plus numerous in-house and custom applications.
-BR&T is the research and development arm of The Boeing Company. As such, our daily work involves cutting edge technologies that are applicable to products and services in the commercial airline and airplane industry, all aspects of the defense and space industries, and potential new industries. An intern position in BR&T thus provides a great overview of the entire company, a large-scale systems integrator.

Competencies
Successful candidates will be inquisitive and have an ability to create mental models, while maintaining a systems [engineering] perspective. Must be able to program in one or more languages, and a working knowledge of statistics and proficiency in using Excel spreadsheets is a must. Successful candidates have a strong desire to learn new tools, methodologies, and software to work on cutting-edge projects. An interest in the field of modeling and simulation along with a fascination with airplanes, spacecraft, military systems/operations or business is also a requirement.
