Job Description:
The Summer Intern will work in the Mainframe Business Capacity Planning department. The Mainframe Business Capacity Planning team is responsible for sizing mainframe applications future and current initiatives, analyzing statistics to accurately forecast application capacity needs, and coding/automation for the Reporting Services initiative. The student will be responsible for the following:
- Leverage MS Access or SQL for database creation and management for Reporting Services. Develop macros and automation as needed for this project.
- Expected to update & create reports using ACCESS, SQL, & EXCEL
- Good knowledge of pulling data from databases and being able to automate reports
- Managerial/Leadership work activities
- Attend technical/business meetings generate meeting summaries
- Create new and update existing documentation for application meetings, contingency plans, sizing analysis
The successful Intern will have worked with or have experience in:
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel) skills
- Knowledge of SQL and SQL Programming
- Visual Basic Programing
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills
- Good knowledge of computers and servers
- Strong analytical and communication skills both oral and written
- Web development Cold Fusion or ASP knowledge a plus
The Summer Intern must be able to work 32-40 during the summer (generally May through August).
Knowledge and Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite Intermediate to Advanced (Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel)
- Good Technical Troubleshooting, Analytical
- Strong written and verbal Communication Skills
- Ability to work well within a dynamic, agile team, team player
- Leadership skills Positive attitude, take charge mentality and good organizational skills
- Working knowledge of SQL reporting
Education:
The Summer Intern must be currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program working toward a degree in Computer Science, MIS or related discipline.
