Florida based publication, Times Beach Magazine, is looking for an intern to design, maintain, and edit the magazine's general layout. Currently, our content editor handles this duty, however, with sudden growth and interest in our magazine, maintaining both general editing duties and layout design has become too much of a responsibility for one person. We will need someone to work in close contact with our Executive Editor to redesign the layout to our liking, maintain the layout (i.e. make minor changes and updates where/when necessary), and edit the layout for every issue while adhering to deadlines. Along with regular duties, you will be expected to maintain an ambassador-like role and share positive details about the company with your personal social network. Please note: this position is UNPAID and will not require any travel or relocating. All correspondence will be electronically. Current workload commitment is on a rolling basis. Let it be known that overall our organization is very upbeat and easygoing. We consider ourselves a very boutique level firm and try to keep work at the magazine fun and inviting! The opportunity to work at Times Beach Magazine has opened doors to other opportunities for some of our contributors including Brand Ambassadorships with Harpers Bazaar and AT&T (these opportunities are not guaranteed to any future hirees). Although we are still operating as a boutique firm, we do maintain a corporate-level reputation. We work with celebrities, designers, and public figures alike as well as many new talents. Reporting to the Education & Youth Programs Director, the SWC will Coordinate educational instruction for youth using the Scout badge programs of the Girl Scout, Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs, analyzing requirements and determining their suitability for inclusion in the Hartwood Days Festival Badge Day Workshop offered during the Festival. Working as the SWC for the festival will leave this intern with a resume that shows their ability to coordinate educational projects for elementary through high-school aged youth, giving real world credentials and experience.
