To this end, Jumpstart trains and supports caring adults to serve as part-time Corps members, working with young children to build skills crucial to school success. Jumpstart focuses on three program areas: building School Success for young children by fostering their early language, literacy, social, initiative skills; encouraging strong Family Involvement to help families support childrens learning; and training college students to be Future Teachers and leaders in early childhood education. Jumpstart serves young children in more than 60 communities nationwide. About the Position Jumpstart Corps members have the unique opportunity to inspire young children to learn, serve in a local community, work on a team, and build professional skills. All Corps members receive professional-caliber training to help them implement Jumpstarts outcome-based program, promote childrens school success, and build family involvement. Corps members have the following option for participation in Jumpstart: 300-hour term: serve part-time during the school year Jumpstart School Year Corps members complete 300 hours of service during the school year. This intensive commitment will make a substantial impact in the life of a young child. During the school year, Corps members participate in the following activities: Serve part-time, 8-12 hours per week, during the school year, including: oJumpstart sessions with team and small groups of children, 4 hours per week (two afternoons a week for two hours each) oTeam planning meetings and session preparation, which includes planning, reflection, and/or training, 2-3 hours per week o2-5 hours each week in a preschool classroom during the regular school day o1 hour of individual planning and preparation for Jumpstart sessions Communicate with childrens family Participate in intensive pre-service and on-going trainings Attend periodic service days, often held on weekends

Cascade Power Group: Winter 2012 Green Energy Internship Program Cascade Power Group (Bellevue, WA) is currently seeking qualified interns for the fall and winter. 1. Project Manager Main focus is energy efficiency and renewable energy project management. Conduct technical reviews, review project documents, financial reviews, and regulatory items for projects, close outs, etc. Assist with project management and development on site at our client in Redmond as well as in our Bellevue location. Ideal candidates should have a background in or wish to pursue construction management, mechanical, civil engineering, or project management. Background in energy is highly desired, but not mandatory. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, ability to self-manage and work independently, good communication skills writing and verbal. 2. Policy Analyst Track the development of Federal and state energy policy, prepare public testimonies and written responses, legislative bill review and participation, and other delegated tasks related to environmental policy. Focusing on energy efficiency and renewable energy, interns will gain valuable insight on energy policy development and on-the-ground experience in contributing to legislative process. Ideal candidates should be students in Masters in Public Administration (MPA) program or senior in undergraduate environmental policy or pre-law program. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, ability to self-manage and work independently, good communication skills writing and verbal. 3. Entry-Level Energy Data Analyst Responsibilities: Collect, analyze, and track energy use and cost data/ Energy Performance benchmarking/ Manage and update database and online portfolio/ Prepare monthly energy reports and project documents. Other delegated tasks related to energy analysis. The ideal candidates should be studying environmental science or related field. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, ability to self-manage and work independently, good communication skills writing and verbal. 4. Business and Marketing Assist with publications and marketing, website management/maintenance, preparation of business documents, and other delegated tasks related to business development. Ideal candidates should be students or those looking to develop their marketing, business development, and administrative trade skills. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, ability to self-manage and work independently, good communication skills writing and verbal. Though we are open to less experienced candidates, experience with Adobe Creative Suite CS5, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher, graphic design, web design, software programming, and market research is highly desired.
