Paid Internships in Film Production and Development

Interested in a 3-month paid Hollywood internship? Or how about a free weekend workshop hosted at UCLA, with free room and board? Passionate about creating narratives that promote individual liberty? Taliesin Nexus offers two programs this summer/fall: 1. Internships for three lucky applicants at production companies in the Los Angeles area 2. A weekend workshop (August 16-18) at UCLA for about two-dozen applicants, who will receive nuts-and-bolts training by some 20 seasoned Hollywood pros. Seniors, graduate students, and recent grads with a demonstrated drive to pursue a creative career in screenwriting, directing or producing, and who exhibit a passion for expanding individual liberty, may be eligible. In addition to a stipend to help cover living expenses, interns receive: Mentoring Possible travel assistance for Americans from outside Southern California (you must be a U.S. citizen or have a green card to participate). Automatic acceptance in the August Filmmakers Workshop held at UCLA. Only three internship slots are currently available. 1 or 2 will be placed this summer (with a probable starting time of late June/early July -- we are somewhat flexible), and the remaining interns will be placed in the fall, anytime between September and November. Previous interns have worked at leading production companies whose credits include the upcoming Noah with Russell Crowe, Elf, The Wedding Crashers, Braveheart, The Passion of the Christ, and The Stoning of Soraya M. Chapter Leader - REACT to FILM College Action Network

Do you like documentary film? Interested in social change? Fascinated by the film industry? Looking to inspire your peers and make a difference? The REACT to FILM College Action Network aims to expose, engage, and inspire young people around critical social issues. Launched in the fall of 2011, the College Action Network started out at about 10 colleges. Due to the overwhelmingly positive response, we currently have 27 chapters across the country, and are looking to expand to up to 50 chapters by the fall of 2012. College Action Network Chapter Leaders will be responsible for planning screening events featuring REACT to FILMs social issue based documentaries. Each event aims to draw a large crowd, and uses an important social issue based documentary as the means for getting students to be more engaged in the issues facing themselves and others worldwide. Screenings are followed by a guest speaker (often film director or producer) or a panel discussion. REACT to FILM frequently uses Livestream technology to connect multiple colleges in the network for interactive video Q&As.
