New Brooklyn Theater is a 501(c) 3 theater company that is on a mission to purchase and restore the historic theater at 1215 Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, NY that is in jeopardy of being demolished by condo and retail developers. New Brooklyn Theater (NBT) plans to restore the building and transform it into a 3-stage performing arts center that will develop the work of Brooklyn artists for Brooklyn audiences with strong efforts to also create innovative family and educational programming. New Brooklyn Theater is currently in the first phase of this initiative and have raise over $22,000 for the down payment of the theater. We are in need of 1 or 2 individuals that will assist in continuing to grow our donor roster and help transition into the next phase of restoration. Interns will report directly to the Executive Producer and General Manager of NBT while also being of assistance to the Artistic Director. NBT is seeking candidates with true entrepreneurial spirits who have excellent communication skills, are ambitious with a strong work ethic, and are open to new ideas. All backgrounds will be considered. Candidates with experience or education in non-profit administration, theater, social work, music business, education, marketing, and advertising will be considered first. This is a flexible, part-time, internship position and Interns should expect to work approximately 15 - 20 hours. College credit is available.

The Silicon Valley Leadership Group, a public policy trade association engaged in quality of life and bottom-line business issues on behalf of over 375 companies in Silicon Valley, is looking for policy coordinators. Coordinator Opportunities Responsibilities: You will have an opportunity to perform at least some of these duties during your internship: Assume responsibility for one major project in your selected issue area with the assistance and oversight of your mentor, for example in depth research on a proposed policy measure, helping to organize a major event, etc. Review and analyze proposed legislation or policy/regulatory changes, including recommendations for future action by the Leadership Group, as appropriate. Interact with legislative and government offices on policy issues. Assist in preparing for meetings with company and community leaders, including agenda, preparation and mailing, follow-up phone calls, meeting research and minutes. Coordinators are also encouraged to attend the meetings they have helped to arrange and other Leadership Group meetings and events to learn and to make contacts. Prepare and present information to appropriate Leadership Group committees or task forces. Anticipate and be prepared to answer audience questions on issues. Assist other office staff and coordinators in administrative projects, as needed. Special Projects: Coordinators may focus on one or more policy area.
