POSITION SUMMARY
The Asia/Eurasia Partnerships division is one of four regional teams within the Global Programs department of AmeriCares. We support health care and social service programs in such countries as Afghanistan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Kosovo, the Philippines, Romania, and Uzbekistan. Our programs combine gift-in-kind aid donations with financial grants and training opportunities in order to build local capacity to address some of the most pressing health care issues, including: disaster management, maternal and neonatal survival, child nutrition, infectious disease outbreaks, and prevention and control of chronic conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
The AmeriCares internship in Asia/Eurasia Partnerships provides an exciting opportunity for a student interested in humanitarian aid operations in the region. Our three-person team manages a diverse and challenging portfolio that offers a very substantive work experience for an intern.
The position is structured such that the intern is engaged in daily workflow by taking on assignments of immediate importance while also managing longer-term projects that will help strengthen our efficiency and effectiveness. In addition, throughout the duration of the internship, the intern will participate in an institution-wide group project along with other summer interns.
