International Travel Industry Sales Internship

Company Overview:
Since its opening in 1971, the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, FL has grown to feature four theme parks the Magic Kingdom ® Park, Epcot ®, Disneys Hollywood Studios ®, and Disneys Animal Kingdom ® Theme Park. In addition, more than 20 themed resort hotels, two water parks, and the Downtown Disney® Area, a daytime and nighttime entertainment complex, are part of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Department Overview:
The International Travel Industry Sales Team is directly responsible for Walt Disney World Resort sales through contracted tour operators and wholesaler accounts worldwide including Asia Pacific/Japan, Europe, UK, Latin America and Canada. The team also works closely with and provides sales support directly to WDW offices in Australia, London, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Toronto, and Tokyo. The Latin America & Global Receptive teams are based in the WDW Celebration office and are responsible for the record breaking sales in recent years resulting in Latin America as the fastest growing international market, The International TIS team develops and executes FAMs and agent education programs both in-country as well as here at WDW. The sales team also has responsibility for support of Disneys global parks & resorts portfolio.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Primarily responsible for processing specific projects required by the sales operations manager including support of the Latin America and Global Receptive Tour Operator sales team and their accounts
  • Assist training manager with logistics for WDW agent educational programs and Familiarization programs for travel agents and tour operators from Mexico, Brazil, and other Latin American markets. Provide support and reports as needed
  • Monitor the travel agent sites for Latin America and coordinate the approval process for agent complimentary ticket requests
  • Provide support for other international markets as may be required such as Asia Pacific, Canada, and EMEA - Europe/Middle East/South Africa
  • Monitor collateral and maintain local inventory, storage and distribution. Coordinate and arrange distribution as required by Sales Managers
  • Play a main role in the Winter and Summer International Tour Leader Programs for groups coming to WDW, assisting with the program preparation, processing requests by participating accounts, provide reports, as well as any other support required for this program
  • Assist the sales operations team with projects including review of the product website, and work with our account management system DASH


Basic Qualifications These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for this position:

  • Currently enrolled in a U.S. college/university earning a degree in travel/hospitality management, marketing/sales
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Demonstrate the ability to work within a culturally diverse team environment
  • Demonstrated verbal and written and verbal communications skills, as well as telephone etiquette skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency within a windows environment working at the intermediate level or above, including working with spreadsheets in excel
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task different projects for different managers


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual, preferably Spanish or Portuguese
  • Demonstrate the ability to share creative and new ideas
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be able to take initiative and lead on projects

Internship Eligibility:
  • Must be enrolled in a U.S. college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Not have already completed two consecutive (spring/fall) College or Professional Internship Programs
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)


Program Length:
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2013 through January 2014. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

Housing:
A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Position Description
Boeing in Colorado is home to a variety of Boeing Defense Space and Security Systems (BDS) programs including Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Next Generation Operational Control Segment (OCX), Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites R series (GOES-R), Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD), National Systems, Secure Border Initiative (SBInet), and Advanced Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (ABMDS). This systems engineering internship exposes engineering students to real-world complex systems. Interns will participate in systems development, requirements functional decomposition, integration and test. Interns will work with a mentor in a team environment; interact with customers, partners, subcontractors and suppliers.
There are several systems engineering intern positions co-located with multiple programs in the Colorado Region including Boeing Aurora, Boeing Colorado Springs, and Boeing Schriever AFB. Internships are generally June through August.
