The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum offers several three-month internships in Public Horticulture from approximately early May to late August. Our Internship objectives are to provide students with an enriching professional growth experience in public horticulture; encourage creative problem solving skills in public garden management issues; and give students practical career experience in public garden management. Founded more than 50 years ago, in 1958, the Arboretum is a part of the Department of Horticultural Science, in the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at the University of Minnesota. We research new and innovative products for clients around the world in our facilities located inside of Universal Studios Orlando. Our quantitative product testing, focus groups, and one-on-one qualitative interviews assure the validation needed in collecting accurate data for our clients to analyze. MVG will work within the colleges internship guidelines. The internship will be paid by a stipend which is distributed out twice- ($125) at the half way point and ($125) at completion of the internship. Interns invest the required amount of time as specified by their college-typically 15-20 hours per week. The program will span from May 9th through August 9th. Upon successful completion of the internship the student will have a great lift to their resume, may gain course credit, receive a valuable letter of recommendation and certificate of completion, and be able to connect with MVG on LinkedIn.com.
