Research is a crucial skill that comes with the occurrence of legal actions. Writing up of memos and other legal documents will also be required for the intern to do. The intern must be very eloquent and well spoken in order to get the proper message across in the legal writings. It is important that the individual does not use jargon frequently and is able to portray ideas clearly in writing. A legal intern must be clear, concise, dedicated, and logical. It is important that this individual is practical and can think analytically when needed. The legal intern will also be responsible for smaller duties that do not involve writing, that will be disclosed by Centel Media. These duties can vary. Job Description The Cvent legal department has an hourly position opening for a legal intern in its McLean, VA office for a rising 2nd or 3rd year law student (2012 or 2013 JD candidate). Assignments will include legal research and analysis and the review of contracts and other legal documents for Cvents in-house attorney. This is a paid internship and the rate is $20.00 per hour. Excellent writing and analytical skills as well as oral and interpersonal communication skills are required. Candidates must also have proficiency in doing online research including use of databases such as Lexis-Nexis. Prior experience in the information technology, travel or hospitality industry is a plus but not required. Candidates must be available to work full time during the summer of 2011 and part-time during the 2011-2012 school year (about 20 to 25 hours per week).
